Blue Lagoon is a private island situated about 3 miles from Nassau, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Bahamas. Blue Lagoon was once known as Salt Cay due to numerous salt marshes and it was a popular stopover for the pirates and private sailors during the 1800s who used to wait at the island before being permitted to enter Nassau Harbor. Blue Lagoon island remained unknown for many decades for want of proper living conditions and facilities.





In 1979, the island was purchased by a private party and its turn around took place during the last two decades. Today, the Blue Lagoon Island has become a paradise for the vacationers and it is famous as one of the best places for dolphin exploration.
